The Ask

Travel Channel wanted to create a refreshed network ‘look’ that reinvigorates the brand and lets content lead. It needed to provide an easy-to-use, flexible toolkit, and facilitate seamless navigation on-air, and across all consumer touch points.

The Solve

We leveraged the chevron mark to create dynamic color overlays that allow Travel Channel’s content to shine. We delivered an expression-driven toolkit along with a catalogue of end pages, built from Viewpoint’s own footage and from detailed shoot guides provided for their internal production teams. The end result was a new network ‘look’ with a lighter touch, paired with an easy-to-use set of tools for Travel Channel’s team to maintain their brand while working with talent all over the world.

Fun Facts

We named all the colors in the new palette with travel-inspired titles. Travel Channel now features Sky Blue, Lagoon Green, Sunshine Yellow, Adventure Orange, and Deep Blue.

Free the chevron! This refresh was the first time that Travel Channel's arrow could move across the screen in directions other than left to right.
